How It Works:

  • WE PROVIDE VIDEO GUIDANCE

    You will gain immediate access to videos which will guide you through the process of developing and choosing the best content for your website.

  • WE GUIDE YOU TO DEVELOP GREAT CONTENT

    You will also gain immediate access to your Pre-Work Assignment: a document where you are guided to develop great content for your website

  • YOU OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH SQUARESPACE

    We will provide instructions for establishing your own Squarespace account and purchasing your preferred custom domain (recommended, but not required). They will come into play when it's time to launch.

  • WE BUILD YOUR WEBSITE

    We will build your website in our Squarespace account, using the template of your choice.

  • WE PROVIDE UP TO 2 ROUNDS OF REVISIONS

    We will use our handy Client Project Hub to provide you with draft versions of your website so you can easily request specific edits and/or approve the draft.

  • WE LAUNCH YOUR NEW WEBSITE!

    Once your website has been approved, we will give you ownership of it via your Squarespace account and update all the necessary settings for your site to go live!

FAQs

  • You will have access to the guiding videos, Pre-Work prompts, and other informational materials for 30 days after you make your purchase.

    We strongly recommend:

    • Watching the videos and beginning to work on the homework as soon as possible and

    • Completing the homework within 2 weeks of your purchase.

    Once your Pre-Work has been submitted, we will add your website to the schedule to be completed as soon as possible.

    Our goal is to finish the website (including the final revisions) in about one week. This means you should block off some time in your schedule to review draft versions of the website during the week your project is on the schedule.

    If you do not watch the videos and/or complete the Pre-Work Assignment during the 30-day window, (because, hey, life happens) you can extend your access to the materials for up to 90 days for $35/month.

  • In my experience, Squarespace is one of the most user-friendly website builders for people who don't have a lot of website building experience. Its custom domain purchasing and management areas are also much more straightforward for the technologically challenged or impatient.

    Squarespace also offers affordable annual prices for their lowest-tier websites. They offer several features to add on as you need them, so no need to pay for extra features until you do.

  • As with any website project, there are certain things we must have to provide you with a professional website and few items are optional.

    Required:

    • A Squarespace or Kajabi account and annual website subscription (lowest price tier is fine)

    • A Google / Gmail account to access and save your progress on the Pre-Work

    • Time to dedicate to completing the Pre-Work in a timely manner (see timeline info)

    • At least one high-quality, professional photo of you (as the face of your business)

    Strongly recommended:

    • A custom domain (e.g., www.yourbusinessname.com; purchased from Squarespace is preferred; if none, a web address provided by Squarespace or Kajabi will be used; for example: https://yourbusinessname.squarespace.com or https://yourbusinessname.mykajabi.com)

    • A high-quality logo for your business (if none, text will be used)

    • A set of colors to use to represent your brand (if none, you may choose between color palettes offered by SquareSpace or choose to work with one of our trusted artist partners to have a custom color palette made for you 👉 See our Branding Guide)

    • An email address used only for your business communications and that you check regularly

    • 1 web page, built in Squarespace

    • Basic search engine optimization (SEO)

    • 1 contact form (if desired)

    • 1 custom domain setup (if applicable)

    • Guidance for what to include on website (i.e., the prompts in the Pre-Work and related videos)

    • Review of copy (i.e., website text) provided by client

    • 2 rounds of revisions

    • Branding colors and/or logo (contact Josie if you would like to work with one of our trusted artist partners to have a custom color palette made for you👉 See our Branding Guide)

    • Copy (that's why we provide the strategic prompts in the Pre-Work)

    • Photos (we provide resources for acquiring your own stock photos and/or taking your own high-quality head shots without any fancy equipment)

    • Email marketing from a custom domain setup (contact Josie if you need this service)

  • No. We are only building One-and-Done Websites for service providers who are not selling physical products online.

    In other words, we do not build eCommerce websites.

    However, we can discuss steps connecting your existing eCommerce store to this website, if desired (e.g., Shopify).

  • The total cost to you will be:

    • access to the videos, Pre-Work Assignment, and build-out of your website for the price listed on the proposal page,

    • the annual fee for using Squarespace (Basic tier can be used to get started, though some important business features may only be available on the Core tier), and

    • the annual fee for your custom domain (should you decide to use one -- we recommend you do!).

  • As a website designer, I prefer to empower my clients to feel comfortable managing their websites on their own (at least minor updates) rather than holding their websites hostage so only I can make changes.

    I will provide resources for you to guide you as you make minor changes to your site.

    If you need more in-depth assistance for a major change (e.g., adding another page), we can discuss a new service agreement.
